Melissa Menard

Melissa Menard

Director of Educational Programs

Melissa is a Masters candidate in the department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. She graduated from her Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Biology from Laurentian University in 2013. Melissa is currently the co-director of communications with the Not for Profit  branch of Health Out Loud. She enjoys seeing the progress that Health Out Loud has made since the summer and is excited to see how HOL will continue to grow throughout the year with this amazing team.

Zarin Tasnim

Zarin Tasnim

Director of Educational Programs

Zarin is a second year student doing a double major in Global Health and Health Studies at the University of Toronto. She hopes that by collaborating with like-minded individuals, she can help her local community, and perhaps one day take her passion to a global level to help developing nations achieve their goals through education. Through previous experiences, she learned how important it is to be a global citizen. As one of the new Grant Writers of HOL, Zarin is super excited to learn, grow and contribute!

Theodora Brunn

Theodora Brunn

Theodora is a fourth year Human Biology and Chemistry student at the University of Toronto. In her past, she has been involved with theatre, editorial work, and mentorship programs in the community. A long-standing passion has been the intersection between science and the arts and the interdisciplinary nature of research in the field of healthcare. This year, Theodora is excited to work with HOL to help create educational and innovative programming that promotes health and health literacy.

Tamar Austin

Tamar Austin

University Program Co-ordinator

Tamar graduated from The University of Toronto with a double major in Biology and Bioethics, and a minor in Sociology. She has long held a passion for health promotion and health equity, and has previously been involved in providing support for other health literacy programs. Tamar is looking forward to working with Health Out Loud and its partnered universities, assisting already established university chapters, reaching out to help create new chapters, and raising awareness on a variety of health related topics.

Catherine Chea

Catherine Chea

Catherine Chea is a recent McGill philosophy grad and a part-time piano teacher at the Arcadia Academy of Music. She is passionate about working with people when it comes to community outreach. What motivated her to be a part of Health Out Loud is the opportunity to work with people in our community and strive towards promoting leadership and health awareness – a very relevant and diverse topic.

Calvin Won

Calvin Won

High School Program Co-ordinator

Calvin is a third year Developmental Biology specialist at the University of Toronto with interests in understanding how our behaviours affect societal well being. Alongside studies Calvin is currently a research student at St. Michael’s Hospital studying the effects of fructose-containing sugars on cardiac health. Outside of academics his passions are snowboarding and watching films. This year, Calvin looks forward to taking on the role of High School Program Co-ordinator and experiencing a new side to healthcare.
